Design Philosophy

The Baxter Sofa explores the contrast between softness and structure. Its low, expansive form invites the body to relax, while a disciplined geometry ensures visual calm and architectural presence.

Deep, evenly spaced pull-points sculpt the surface into generous volumes, creating a rhythm that feels organic yet controlled. The silhouette remains grounded and horizontal — composed, confident, and deliberately restrained.

A continuous 304 stainless steel base detail, polished to a muted sheen, anchors the form with precision. It is not decorative, but structural — a signature element that quietly distinguishes the design.

Upholstery & Leather

Upholstered in full top-grain vintage waxed leather, selected exclusively for this design.

• A-grade American hides

• Thickness: 1.2–1.4 mm

• Semi-aniline finish for breathability and natural touch

• Tumble-polished wax process creates a soft vintage glow and subtle tonal depth

• Natural grain preserved — no artificial embossing

Over time, the leather develops a personal patina, deepening in character rather than wearing out. Each piece ages uniquely, making no two sofas ever identical.

The Baxter Sofa is fully wrapped in genuine leather on all sides (360°), allowing it to be positioned freely within a space — a detail reserved for truly premium pieces.

The seating structure combines three distinct layers:

• Surface layer — soft fiber padding that adapts instantly to the body

• Elastic response layer — high-resilience foam that absorbs pressure and rebounds naturally

• Kiln-dried through multiple stages

• Moisture content: 8–12%

• Density: approx. 680 kg/m³

• Exceptional resistance to warping and cracking

• Reinforced 12 cm thick visible frame, with dense internal spacing

• Material usage exceeds standard sofa construction by approximately 50%

Suspension system:

• Extra-wide, high-tension elastic webbing

• High-carbon serpentine springs

• Carbon steel support legs for enhanced load bearing

This structure ensures longevity, stability, and consistent comfort over years of use.

Craftsmanship & Quality Control

Each Baxter Sofa undergoes an extensive production process of over 100 individual steps, from hide selection to final upholstery.

Stitching tension, cushion inflation, leather alignment, and finishing are carefully controlled to maintain uniformity across every piece.

All materials meet international standards, including SGS certification, ensuring durability, safety, and low VOC emissions.
